About Adam

Please note before reading, some of the information below is out-dated.

My name is Adam, my nickname is Ads. I am 20 years old I really like macs and tech and I have been creating basic websites since 2006. I got my own website in 2007 and brought my .com domain in late 2009. I run WordPress with MySQL and PHP.

I always have been interested in computers since I was little as my parents always used them in the house, changing settings (well, very simply settings) and exploring Windows 95/98 is how it began.

Why I switched to the mac and I am planning to switch back to PC.

School was my first taste of Mac, they had two Macs in the whole school. I got offered to make a blog on one of them. I loved iWeb the second I tried it, it was easy to use and the end product looked great. While I questioned myself as to why I was using front page to create my personal site. About a year later, I had made a very simple site in front page and with the help of a family friend, I final got it up on the net with my ISP free hosting service.

After downloading a lot of templates and programs, I was never happy with the results of my website. While at school I was using the whole of iLife and growing my like for macs. After going through a big surgery on both of my legs, my dad got me a white MacBook as I was due for an upgrade from my 4-year-old laptop.

As I was getting used to the Mac OS, I created my website in iWeb and used a 3rd party application but when iWeb ’09 brought ‘official’ FTP support but it was a NIGHTMARE whenever I tried to update it. Clicking upload changes DIDN’T work, sometimes I deleted the whole site from the remote server then updated it but sometimes often it didn’t work. I think it was a software bug or cache issue or both.

During this time, I found iMove and Final Cut Express as another hobby

After wanting a .com domain and hosting, I was quick to delete iWeb from my choices. I tried Freeway Express but wasn’t happy. After doing some research online, I liked WordPress and after learning some CSS & PHP and a few others years later I still use it.

Now I find web development as a way to show my hobby off. As I don’t like designing a great looking website, I have found the back end of the web more interesting like servers and as my 12GB of ram isn’t powerful enough to test multiple O.Ss like Microsoft Server. A PC would be the best option for me.

[While this is one of my hobbies, I hope to turn this hobby into a successful career one day]
